Indonesian Young Pharmacist Summit 2024: Empowering the Next Generation of Pharmacists

The Indonesian Young Pharmacist Summit 2024, held on August 9 in Denpasar, Bali, brought together approximately 150 young pharmacists from across Indonesia. This event served as a vital platform for these emerging professionals to sharpen their skills and enhance their contributions to the pharmaceutical field.

One of the highlights was the session titled "A Guide to Selecting the Right Probiotic," which captivated participants with its practical insights on integrating probiotics into daily clinical practice. Led by Prof. Dr. apt Keri Lestari, a distinguished professor from the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy at Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, the session emphasized the pivotal role of gut microbiota in maintaining overall health. Prof. Keri Lestari highlighted how specific probiotic strains can support gut health, boost immunity, and aid in managing metabolic diseases.

This session underscored the necessity of making personalized, evidence-based probiotic recommendations. Prof. Keri Lestari encouraged young pharmacists to critically assess probiotic products, ensuring they provide optimal patient care. The interactive discussion revealed a strong interest among participants in understanding the optimal use of probiotics, their interactions with other medications, and the importance of lifestyle changes for achieving the best outcomes.
